Eran "Dolly" Jobe Adams
March 7, 1930 – November 30, 2019
Eran Jobe (Dolly) Adams is a native Mobilian, daughter of Norman Russell Jobe and Eran Izard. Raised in Jackson, Tennessee, she finished Jackson High School in 1948 and attended Mary Washington College before returning to Mobile in 1950. In Mobile, she participated in the Mardi Gras court of 1951 while she worked as a secretary at the Corps of Engineers. After returning from a European trip, she met her husband Non Quincy Adams and became his helpmate and constant companion for over fifty years. Dolly was active in the Historic Mobile Preservation Society, a local mystic society, the DAR and the Junior League of Mobile wherein she served as secretary. She enjoyed playing competitive tennis at the Country Club of Mobile.
Dolly is survived by her two children, Laura Aline Adams and Samuel Russell Adams (Ann), her granddaughter Eran and great-grandchildren Kyra and Damien, all who reside in Mobile. Dolly was often praised: for her beauty, and all who knew her will miss her wit and her intelligence.
