Erma Jean Simpson Buck

Erma “Jean” Simpson Buck – age 87, departed this life on May 11, 2013. She was a devoted spouse, mother, and loving friend who will be deeply missed by her loving family. Jean and her husband, Kennith, married in the First Christian Church on Government Street over 68 years ago and have lived in the Mobile and Irvington area for 70 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hal Joseph and Willie Mae Simpson of Thomastown, MS, and her brother, James “Jimmy” Simpson of Pearl, MS. In addition to her husband, Jean is survived by her daughter Marilyn Buck Pace and grandson, Jason Pace; son, William Joseph “Joe Buck (Gayle), granddaughter, Jennifer Buck Webb, and great-grandson Grayson Webb, granddaughter Cheri Buck Lumpkin (Jimmy), and great-grandchildren, Mallory and Eleanor Lumpkin. She also held dear to her heart dear friends Vital “Sam” and Maria Samuel and Daniel Davisson.

Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Thursday, May 16, 2013, at 11:45 a.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the service hour.
