

Frances Pearl (Michael) Roney – age 94, a lifelong resident of Mobile, AL, born on June 11, 1917, lived happily until June 13, 2011. Frances “Frankie” was a 1935 graduate of Murphy High School. She danced on the Bay Queen and christened the Saenger Theatre in the 20’s. She worked at Khan’s Manufacturing during World War II through the 60’s. She was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. She was also a member of Fulton Heights United Methodist Church. Frankie was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Clyde Roney; her son, Leo Michael Roney; and great-grandson, Jon Roney. She is survived in life by her children, Andrea Evans of Fowl River, Angela (Bert) Gillis of Mobile, Atrisha (Jimmy) Looney of Mon Lois Island, Anthony (Angela) Roney of Fairhope, Aubrey Roney of Mobile, Megan (David) Windsor of Mobile and Melanie McKenzie of Theodore. Frankie is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren. We will miss you Mam-ma! Funeral services will be Thursday, June 16, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.
