
Frank Jasper Raue, Jr., a life-long resident of Mobile, Alabama passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2023 peacefully at home with his family by his side. He is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Frieda Payne Raue; his daughter, Mary Louise Raue; his son, Frank Jasper Raue, III (Michael Browning); his sister, Terry Raue Barnett (Robert), and numerous nephews. He was a member of Saint Ignatius Catholic Church for nearly sixty years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Jasper Raue, Sr. and Lillian Weinacker Raue of Mobile.
Frank was born in Mobile, Alabama and was educated at McGill Institute, where he graduated in 1960. Frank then attended Auburn University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. At Auburn University, he was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity. After returning to Mobile, Frank worked in public accounting at Smith, Dukes and Buckalew where he made many life-long friends. In 1967, he joined his father in the family business, Equipment Sales Corporation, where he held various positions. Frank retired from Equipment Sales Corporation as its co-owner and Chief Financial Officer in 2009.
He served in various community organizations including United Cerebral Palsy and The Mulherin Home. Frank and his wife actively participated in various Catholic organizations including The Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem and participated in Saint Ignatius fundraising campaigns for many years. Frank and his family carried on the family tradition – started by his mother – of hosting seminarian programs at their family summer beach house.
Frank enjoyed spending time with his family at their beach house at Orange Beach for nearly fifty years. He enjoyed fishing in Louisiana with friends and family. He actively participated in Gulf Coast bill fishing tournaments and continued to enjoy life on the water and all things that coastal living offers.
Frank was a life-long member of various Mobile mystic organizations.
Visitation with be at Saint Ignatius Catholic Church on Friday, December 29 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Funeral Mass will at 11:00 a.m. in the main church. A private interment will follow.
