

Fred Truett Beach, Jr. – loving husband, father, and grandfather, a 69 year-old native of Montgomery and resident of Chickasaw passed away Sunday, June 10, 2012. He was the owner of Saraland Upholstery. A longtime professional musician, he wrote his own music, recorded four records, and his song “Little Nicodemus” was a No.1 song of the week on WABB in 1961. He was a member of Bayou Sara Baptist Church. Mr. Beach was preceded in death by his parents, Fred T., Sr. and Irella Beach; sister, Lois Maxey; and grandson, James C. Beach. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sarah Beach; children, Tommy L. Beach (Lisa), Paula B. Lewis, Alma B. Taylor (Rusty), Robbie W. Beach (Kim), and Freddie M. Beach; sister, Margaret Pace (Tommy) and Barbara Scarborough (Glen); brother, Joseph C. Beach; 11 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Thursday, June 14, 2012, at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until the service hour. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the U.S.A. Mitchell Cancer Institute, 307 University Blvd., N., TRP Bldg.
