I had a dream last night... that Uncle Garland was very happy. I woke up and thought, "Why did I have that dream." Then on the TV it reminded me that this is Good Friday... I remember when I first met Uncle Garland, it was Easter weekend, I believe 1980... I remember he was so happy, all of his children were there. He hid the Easter Eggs and wanted his girls (which were grown at the time)to hunt for the eggs.. after all eggs were found, he then wanted the eggs hidden again so he could go and find them... he made me smile. I only seen him, maybe once a year from that time but my memories of that first visit will be with me forever...

Uncle Garland, just between you and me, you were my favorite Uncle, sooo handsome too. I know I didn't see you often but I did think of you. You will be missed. Tell my Daddy hi and we will see you again one day. Rest In Peace.

When my grandfather passed many years ago, I found some comfort in being reminded that since life is eternal, death is merely a horizon and a horizon is just the limit of our sight. Though he has passed from sight for now, you will be united again one day in the presence of God. May God bless and comfort you all.
