What a beautiful legacy Mr. Gene leaves with us all. My memories of “The Millams”, goes back to my early childhood. Our families would vacation together, and as next door neighbors we were all together a lot. I always felt loved when I was with them. They both planted seeds in my life and they may have never even known it.
My memories of Ms. Annette would be her delicious peas and corn bread, her high school figure, and her willingness to help anyone at anytime. As for Mr. Gene he would come to our house to collect insurance money. He always had a beautiful smile that lit up his face and the faces of others.
One of my fondest memories is the story about Mr. Gene hearing the song “ain’t no sunshine when she’s gone”. When the song got to the part where it repeats “I know, I know, I know about 20 times Gene hit the dashboard as if the record was stuck. He had such a beautiful since of humor and such a beautiful heart!
“The circle will remain unbroken”!
I love you all!
