Mr. George L. Freeland, Sr. – a native and lifelong resident of Mobile, AL died Thursday, May 12, 2011 at his residence. Mr. Freeland was a member of Kingswood United Methodist Church and retired from CSX Railroad after 40 years of service. He was an avid, lifelong runner and participated in the Azalea Trail Run and numerous marathons. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Mrs. Betty Freeland; two sons, George L. (Gina) Freeland, Jr. and James Thomas (Becky) Freeland; and four grandchildren, George L. Freeland, III, John Hallett Freeland, Dawson Thomas Freeland, and Bailey Elaine Freeland. The family will receive friends from 5 P.M. until 7 P.M. on Sunday, May 15, 2011 at Radney Funeral Home, Dauphin Street. Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M. on Monday, May 16, 2011 from Kingswood United Methodist Church. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.
