Mr. George L. Kotis, a native of Mobile, Alabama, passed away on January 20, 2019 in a local hospital. Mr. Kotis was a graduate of Murphy High School in 1953. He lived in Sylmar, California for 18 years and retired from Mobile County in 2004.
Mr. Kotis was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle who enjoyed traveling with his wife of 62 years, Elizabeth Ann, watching golf and Alabama football games, and spending time with his family. Mr. Kotis loved to shrimp with his son Greg on his shrimp boat the Georgeanna, he owned and operated Capt. Leon’s Seafood for over ten years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Jessie Kotis; son Greg; and siblings: James, Edward, Irene, Mary, Charlie, Cynthia, Helen, Katherine, and Ted. Mr. Kotis is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth Ann Kotis; brother, Nick Kotis; daughter-in-law, Tavi Kotis; granddaughter, Jessie Kotis; sister-in-law, Janice (Johnnie) Fields; and many special nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life visitation will be held on Sunday, January 27, 2019 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home, Mobile, AL.
