George Morris Yon

Always faithful, that proud motto of the Marine Corps well represents the character of George as he passed through this life. He was a World War II veteran of the Corps who believed in God, family and country. He was grateful for his thirty-eight years of employment with the “Old Mobile Gas Service Corp.” – the last eleven as Vice-President of Operations. George was faithful to his loving wife Annette through their seventy years of marriage, and loyal to his two daughters Mrs. Georganne Walker of Hattiesburg, Miss and Ms. Joy Yon of Mobile, AL. He was very proud of his four grandsons and one granddaughter, five great-granddaughters, one step-granddaughter, seven great-grandsons that he was blessed with.

George was preceded in death by his father, Keitte S. Yon, Sr.; mother, Eugenia M. Pearlman; and brother, Keitte S. Yon, Jr.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 19, 2019 at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Dauphin Island Parkway with a Chapel service immediately following.
