Gerald Lamar Gregory - an 82 year-old native of Scyrene, Alabama and resident of Chunchula passed away on Friday, February 28, 2020. He formerly worked at Courtaulds and retired from UOP after many years of service. He loved God, reading his Bible, and going to church. Through the years, he was a Sunday School teacher, a Deacon, Music Leader, and was willing to help anytime there was a need at church. Mr. Gregory also loved spending time with his family, working in his yard, and was an avid Alabama Crimson Tide fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald Clay Gregory and Anna Lee Drinkard; and beloved wife of 50 years, Agnes Conrad Gregory. Mr. Gregory is survived by his dear daughter, Cindy Hoffman (Patrick), and loving granddaughter, Natalie Faith Hoffman.
Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street on Thursday, March 5, 2020, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Al Moore officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the service hour. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Keith Skipworth, Chris Holder, Daryl Drinkard, Dennis Drinkard, Tommy Kinard, Ralph Hudson, Jerry Bailey, and Chris Richardson. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Palm Gardens Rehab and Saad's Hospice for their kindness and wonderful care shown to Mr. Gregory.
