

Gladys was born to Anton and Rosa Konstanzer on August 27, 1930, in Mobile, Alabama. She graduated from Madison High School in Madison, Tennessee. Gladys worked at City Hospital in Mobile while she studied nursing and Charity Hospital in New Orleans while she studied to be a nurse anesthetist. She worked for many years at Mobile Infirmary before retiring from Andalusia Health Hospital as a CRNA.
Gladys was a very hardworking woman. She loved a challenge and always managed to rise to any occasion and finish any task. Gladys was amazingly generous to others and had a kind heart. Gladys held her pilot's license and enjoyed flying. She loved nature and being outside, traveling, and sewing and quilting. Gladys loved her horses, dogs, and cats. She loved to read and study her bible, loved her family and friends, but above all else, Gladys loved God. Gladys was an accomplished pianist and played in church for many years. She was a member of Fairhope Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, Anton and Rosa Konstanzer; and her daughter, Maria Jongebloed.
She is survived by her daughter, Karla Williams; sister, Francis Weston; brothers, Walter Konstanzer, David Konstanzer, and Joe Konstanzer; as well as other cherished family and friends.
Visitation for Gladys will be held on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Dauphin Island Parkway in Mobile, with a chapel service immediately following. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.
