Gloria Wood Silvernail

Gloria Wood Silvernail - A native and lifelong resident of Mobile, died February 13, 2015. She was a 1947 graduate of Visitation Academy and attended Barry College in Miami, Florida and graduated from Auburn University. Gloria Silvernail was a long time member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church. She was a dedicated homemaker who raised six children and loved to hold and rock any baby she could find. Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, Rhea Patterson Silvernail; her son, Jeffrey Paul Silvernail; her parents, John Woodson Wood, Jr. and Carmela Brincat Wood; her sisters, Carmela Marie Wood and Dorothy Angela Wood, and her brother, John Woodson Wood III; her brother, Paul Darron Wood; her aunt, Gertrude Agnes Brincat; and great aunt, Dora Sexton. Survivors include her children, John Rhea Silvernail (Cindi), Carmela Silvernail (Pat) Marston, Lois Angela Silvernail, Janet Elaine Silvernail, Patrick Lee Silvernail; daughter-in-law, Shannon McAleer Silvernail; six grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. The family would like to thank mom's caregivers, Bailey, Jill, Linda, Marti, Eileen, Juanita, Johnnie, and Willie Mae, for their love and care over the last few years. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Corpus Christi Catholic Church on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at 11 a.m. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of the Mass. Interment will be in the Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Visitation Monastery Restoration Fund 2300 Springhill Ave., Mobile, AL 36607.
