Harlan Lewis Foster

Harlan Lewis Foster, 60, of Semmes, Alabama, passed from this life into the arms of the Lord on November 12, 2025, with his family close by. Born in Mobile, Alabama, on July 18, 1965, Harlan grew up with a deep appreciation for hard work and the value of family --- qualities he carried with him throughout his life.

He was a devoted father and grandfather who took great pride in his family. His children, Harlan (Emily) Foster and Brittany Foster, were his greatest joy, and becoming a grandfather added a new light to his life. He deeply loved his grandchildren Emersyn Foster, Skadi Fusilier, Ellison Foster, Jonathan Foster, and Jordan Foster and they brought him immeasurable happiness.

Harlan is survived by his children and grandchildren, as well as his siblings, Marlene (Jamie) Ashberry, Sherry (Mitchell) Vickers, and Dewey Foster. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joanne Downing Weir and Frank Lewis Foster.

Harlan was a dedicated and hardworking man who found purpose in using his hands. Whether it was fixing, building, or creating, he approached every task with strong determination. He had a natural artistic talent and enjoyed drawing and painting, often pouring his thoughts into his artwork in a way that words could not express. In 2019, Harlan experienced a meaningful and life-changing spiritual awakening. He was baptized in Jesus’ Name by Bro Ward, embracing faith in God. This turning point in his life brought him comfort, restored hope, and a newfound peace that he carried with him in his final years. His family is grateful for the faith that anchored him at the end of his journey.

Though his time on earth feels far too short, the legacy he leaves behind in his family, his faith, and the strength he carried is one that will not fade. “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.” – Acts 2:38

A graveside service is scheduled for November 14, 2025, starting at 10am at Wilmer Cemetery, 13630 Cemetery Rd, Wilmer, AL, 36587.
