Harry P. Jernigan, Jr. – A native and resident of Mobile, AL died Thursday, February 16, 2012, in a local hospital. He was a Korean War veteran who served in U.S. Army and was a retired school teacher. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry P. Jernigan, Sr. and Virginia Shaw Jernigan; and sister, Mary Catherine Jernigan. Survivors include his brother, David (Clara) Jernigan; two nephews, Mark (Candace) Jernigan and Brian (Maria) Jernigan; one niece, Angela (Robert) Pitts; six great-nieces and two great-nephews, Catelynn, Caleigh, Michael, Matthew and Kimberly Jernigan; Emma, Hannah and Isabelle Pitts. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, February 20, 2012, at 11 a.m. from Corpus Christi Catholic Church. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 10 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.
