

A native and lifelong resident of Mobile, Alabama, Helen Louise Keevan Estes died Sunday June 19, 2016 at age 89. Visitation will be held Thursday June 23, 2016 from 5-8 pm at Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street in Mobile Alabama. Graveside services for family will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday June 24, 2016 Mobile Memorial Gardens – Garden of Transfiguration in Mobile, Alabama.
Mrs. Estes was a retired procurement specialist with the Civil Service at Brookley Field. Following retirement, she enjoyed vacations at the beach at Gulf Shores Alabama. Mrs. Estes was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed many crafts including crochet. Her greatest pleasure was spending time with her family and spoiling her grandchildren. Her dog (baby) Jordan will miss her dearly.
Mrs. Estes was a faithful member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed preparing new dishes to provide at fellowship events and often gave her recipes on handwritten recipe cards to her friends at church.
Helen brought so much joy and happiness to many people. All who met her were blessed to know her. She will be missed tremendously.
Helen Estes was preceded in death by her husband, James Hollis Estes and her grandson James (Jimmy) Wesley Estes. She was also preceded in death by her parents Fred and Cora Keevan; her brothers Robert (Buddy) Keevan and James (Jimmy) Keevan and her sister Elizabeth Keevan Duff Noble.
Helen is survived by her daughter Nancy (Richard) Blackman and her son James Dale (Cecilia) Estes. Mrs. Estes is also survived by four siblings: Margaret Keevan Wilson, Clarence Keevan, Gloria Jean Keevan Taylor and William (Billy) Keevan and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition, Mrs. Estes is survived by six grandchildren: Heather Blackman, David Blackman, Michael Blackman, Laura Blackman Romans (Luke, Sr.), John Blackman and Joseph Estes and one great grandson: Luke Romans (Jr.)
Pallbearers at the graveside service include her grandsons and her nephews: Rick Wilson and Paul Duff. The Reverend David Mauldin from Westminster Presbyterian Church will lead the graveside service.
