Helen Grace Clark Gorum

Helen Grace "Gracie" Gorum of Chickasaw, AL passed away Friday afternoon, July 5th, 2013. She was born in Mobile, AL on March 19, 1923 and was the daughter of Elmer & Lenora Clarke. She had 2 sisters, Margie and Lenora, and 3 brothers, Dempsey, Elmer, & Terrell. Helen attended Tanner Williams School and was a graduate of Murphy High School. She was married to Curtis Gorum, who passed away in 1995.

She was retired from Courtaulds and a member of Order of the Eastern Star in Chickasaw , AL. During her retirement she spent her time traveling, quilting, dancing, and spending time with her family and friends. She was the heart of her family, a lively woman whom everyone enjoyed their time around.

She is survived by her only son, Byron Curtis Gorum; her 2 sisters Margie Guy & Lenora Hamilton; her grandchildren Michael Gorum, David Gorum, and Nicholas Gorum; and her 7 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Gorum was a longtime member of Chickasaw Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at 10 AM at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, with visitation starting at 9 AM. Burial will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens
