Hicky grew up working on a dairy farm. He would milk cows, go to school, come home, and milk cows again. On January 22, 1955, he married Pauline Havard. Years later, he drove a milk truck for Barbers Dairy. He joined Harley's Construction Company where he was overseer of the construction of homes. Later, he was employed by Mobile County Road and Bridge for twenty plus years where he received many plaques of accomplishments including:

He was preceded in death by His parents: Roston Lee and Cora Estelle Havens. His first wife of 44 plus years: Pauline Havard Havens, his son: Kenneth Ray Havens, his siblings: Edwina Fern, Shelly Walley, Hazel Hall, Milton Havens, Leon Havens, Lois Bland, and Carolyn Trawick.
Hilton, Hicky, Hicky Boo, Poppa, Papa Phyllis is survived by His wife, Phyllis Bell Havens. Children; Terry (Renaee) Havens, Randall (Sonya) Havens, Rita (Mack) Johnson, Tim (Kit) Freeman,
Tonya (Ronnie) Phelps. Six grandchildren: Beverly (Gary) Holly, Dewayne (Heather) Havens,
Kenneth (Kirstie) Havens, Taylor (Wesley) Floyd, Ralston Havens, Branson Havens.Ten great-grandchildren: Brittany, Samantha, and Naomi Holly, Lailah, Lannah, and Layton Havens, Truett and Sutton Havens, Blakeney, and Westin Floyd. And many other relatives, and a multitude of friends.
Serving as Pallbearers; Ralston Havens, Branson Havens, Ferrell Bumpers, Darrell Havens, Ronnie Phelps, and Jerry Lowery. Honorary Pallbearers; Henry Havens, Dalton Walley, Charles Dandridge,

A Wake will be held on Saturday, October 3rd, 5:00-8:00 PM at Radney's Funeral Home, 3155 Dauphin St, Mobile, AL.
The Celebration of Life Service will be on Sunday, October 4th, at 2:30 PM at Wilmer Baptist Church, 13371 Moffat Rd, Wilmer, AL. Burial will be at Joiner Cemetary, Tanner Williams Rd, Wilmer, AL.
