Horace Emerson "Buddy" Buzhardt

Horace Emerson (Buddy) Buzhardt, 78 years old, passed away on Saturday, June 13th, in his home on Dog River. He was surrounded by his family and loved ones. Buddy was born on June 1, 1937, in Wilmington, North Carolina. His parents were Otto Furman Buzhardt and Mary Emerson Buzhardt. He is survived by his brother and wife, Joe and Gail Buzhardt of Bolton, Mississippi; children, Jim Buzhardt of Nashville, Bill Buzhardt and Christine Meehan of Birmingham, Libby and Blake Pittman of Birmingham; grandchildren, Patrick and Elise Pittman, Emily, Betsy, Katie, Rose Ellen, and Mary Frances Buzhardt; and beloved companion, Beverly Bosarge. He was predeceased by his wife of 49 years, Mary Louise Buzhardt and son Horace Emerson (Bud) Buzhardt. Buddy practiced medicine as an obstetrician/gynecologist for over 50 years. Mothers, nurses, and babies all loved Dr. Buddy. He was also a veteran of the United States Navy. Buddy enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, painting, gardening, and cooking, and was a published author. A celebration of his life will be held on Monday, June 15th, at 4:00 with visitation afterwards at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church 1854 Staples Road Mobile, Alabama.
