

Jack was born on April 4, 1931 in Greenscutt, GA to Michael and Essie Mae Oglesby.
He served in the Korean War with the US Army for 7 years and the National Guard in Hollis,
MS. for 3 years.
February 14, 1952 Jack married Joyce Ann Sanders. They raised two children, Diane and
Don. Jack graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1958. After graduating, he
moved to Birmingham, AI where he worked with the National Credit Union Administration as a
Federal Credit Union examiner.
Jack and his family moved to Mobile, AL. in June 1960 where Jack began his career as
manager of the Mobile City and County Employees Federal Credit Union. He retired in 1985.
Jack obtained his private pilots license in 1980 and loved to fly. He then went on to receive his
real estate and brokers license where he worked in Gulf Shores and the Daphne area.
Jack had a passion for boating, fishing and shrimping and loved to be anywhere on the water.
Jack was proceeded in death by his loving wife, Joyce, his father, Michael, his mother, Essie
Mae, three sisters, Ruby Melton (Lee), Geneva Cosner (George), Joyce Quick (Twid), two
brothers, Mitchell Oglesby (Virginia), and Billy Oglesby (Sue). He is survived by his two
children, Diane Ragan (Randy), and Don Oglesby, three grandchildren, Brandon M. D'Arcy,
Adam R. Oglesby, and Amanda Oglesby, and one sister Charlotte Walsh (Gene).
A graveside service will be held at Highland Cemetery in Hattiesburg, MS. at 12:30 p.m. on
Monday, February 1,2021.
