He worked for his father’s road construction company along with his brother, Bill, for many years.
After graduating Remington College, he started his current career in Information Technology. He worked for University of South Alabama, USA Women’s and Children’s and USA Knollwood. When Mobile Infirmary acquired Knollwood and changed it to Infirmary West, he was asked to stay. He was currently working for Mobile Infirmary IT for 20 years, lastly in IT Security. While at Infirmary West he met his soulmate and later wife, Betty Edwards, along with many dear friends, especially Mike Behm and Melissa Boesen.
He is preceded in death by his father, Clarence W Jackson; his mother, Mary DeMerle Northington Jackson; his brother, William “Bill” K. Jackson; and step-mother, Ruby Riddle Jackson. He is survived by his wife, Betty Edwards; his sister, Mary Anne Jackson Pugh (David); a favorite aunt, Ruth Olin; niece, Heather Jackson Flores (David); great-niece, BriAnna Flores; cousins, Leigh Shelton, Gabbs Shelton, Jaynie Allsup (Buzz), Dolores Greenwald, Denise Hess; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Tomberlin; nieces, Allyson Blankenship(Chris), Mindy Downey (Brad), Abby Martin (Tony); many other special nieces, nephews and cousins; longtime friends, Alan Perkins (Miriam)and Theresa McClure (Rick); and Huntley, his cat. Appreciation to his supervisors and co-workers during his illness as well as for the great care he received at Mobile Infirmary, especially the MICU.
