James Wesley Knight Sr.

James W. Knight, Sr. – Born August 19, 1922, the son of James Cecil and Lottie Knight, died Friday, April 2, 2010, in a local hospital. Mr. Knight was a veteran of WWII and retired from Brookley Field after 24 years of service. He was a member of the George U. Potter Lodge #912 F & AM. An avid fisherman and gardener, loving husband, father, and grandfather, he will be greatly missed. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Ethel McKnight Knight; his son, James W. Knight, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Wanda Knight; grandson, Wes Knight and his wife, Nan; great-grandson, Hunter Knight; brother, Ralph Knight; sister, Cookie Heathcock; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Monday, April 5, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
