James Terrance Lilley Jr.

Terry was a retired City of Mobile Fire Department Captain, where he served the Toulminville community at Station 14 for many years. He was also a home builder and general contractor.

Terry was a past president of a local mystic organization. He also served as president of The Mobile Firefighters Association IAFF Local 1349, The Alabama Firefighters Association, The Mobile Retired Firefighters Association and was chairman of the Mobile Police and Fire Pension Board.

In addition to his work on behalf of the Firefighters of Mobile, Terry enjoyed hunting, fishing, shrimping and many other outdoor activities.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Gloria Jean (Foster) Lilley, his parents, Jim and Grace Lilley and brother Steve Lilley.

He is survived by sister Bertha (Jim) Clarke and Mary (Rodney) Nichelson, children; Samantha (Jerry) Folse, James (Vicki) Lilley, III, Tina (Olivia) Lilley and grandchildren; Jeremy (Samantha) Folse, Benjamin Folse, James (Fiancee Macie) Lilley, IV, Nicholas (Fiancee, Charity) Lilley, Makaela (Gabe) Paul, Marcus (Lyndsey) Folse, Lauren (Ian) McLeod and 8 great-grandchildren plus many nieces and nephews and longtime friend Sharon Bilskie.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 12, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Heron Bay Baptist Church followed at 11:15 a.m. by graveside services at Dorlan Cemetery.
