

James B. Martin, III – an 82 year-old lifelong resident of “Beautiful Five Lane Cottage Hill Road” in Mobile passed away Friday, January 23, 2015. He was a 1951 graduate of McGill Institute and a Korean War veteran of the United States Army. Mr. Martin retired from International Paper after 35 years of service and was a founding member of a local mystic society. His hobby was antique car collecting.
Mr. Martin was preceded in death by his former wife and mother of his children, Mary Josephine King Martin, and two daughters, Louise M. “LuLu” Aniszewski and Marie M. Matthews. He is survived by four children, James B. Martin, IV, Michael P. Martin, John R. Martin (Leigh) all of Mobile, and Veronica M. Kase (Peter) of Tonawonda, NY; son-in-law, Craig J. Aniszewski of Austin, TX; ten grandchildren, James Martin, Kathryn Toomey (Robert), Jackson Martin, Dominic Martin, Mary Page Martin, Patrick Martin, Parker Aniszewski, Andrew Aniszewski, Lauren Kase, and Emily Kase; and second father to Jane L. Martin. Survivors also include other relatives, and many friends.
Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street, on Tuesday, January 27, 2015, at 10 a.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, January 26, from 5-8 p.m. Interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers are Lynwood Cayton, Wallace McPherson, Allen Duffey, and Terry Guthrie. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
