
Mr. Plash is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ramona “Dit” Blackwell Plash; four sons, Duane (Carolyn Buckley), Drew (Rosanne Reynolds), Paige (Carolyn Lundy), and Rhett (Patty Yvette); 13 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Norma Plash Wenzel, and a brother, Floyd Douglas “Buck” Plash (Carolyn Miller).
Mr. Plash was a veteran of World War II, serving on the U.S.S. California from 1944-46, moving to Mobile afterwards. He was an avid sports fan with an uncanny ability to predict the outcome of the World Series early in the season.
Funeral services will be held at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 1050 Azalea Rd., on Saturday, March 8, at 11:00 a.m. with Rector Ken Cumbie officiating. The family will receive guests prior to the service from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Hanson, Walker, and Samuel Plash, Andrew Davis, and Curran Foose, as well as his friends, “Bubba” McNellage and Philip Parker.
