
James Homer Posey, Sr., December 24, 1934-July 21, 2015, was a native of Mississippi, and life time resident of Mobile. Jim attended St. Catherine of Sienna, McGill Institute, API (Auburn) and the U.S. Army. He was an entrepreneur, businessman, custom homebuilder, an avid hunter, and a fisherman. He was also a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church, the Mobile Home Builders Association, and several mystic societies.
Mr. Posey was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 39 years, Julie Roe Posey, his parents Jake and Helen Posey, Madeline M. Posey, and his nephew, John “Drew” Davidson.
He is survived by his son, James H. Posey, Jr. of Mobile, AL, two daughters, Jody (Dan) Sparks of Birmingham, AL and Jane (Mark) Kirkpatrick of Mobile, AL, five grandchildren, William Skinner, Eliot Skinner, Richard Kirkpatrick, Joseph Kirkpatrick, and Julie Margaret, three sisters, Jacqueline S. Posey, Anna Maria Posey both of Daphne, AL, and Elizabeth (Lloyd) Allen of Duluth, GA, a very special grandniece, Hannah J. Bocanegra, and many other nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, relatives and friends.
A memorial mass will be celebrated Friday, July 24, 2015. At 11:00 a.m. at St. Ignatius Catholic Church.
The family wishes to thank the staff at M.D Anderson in Houston, TX, Mobile Infirmary, and Springhill Memorial Hospital.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Department of Leukemia, University of Texas, MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston and the Juvenile Diabetes Association.
