James Scott Wesson

James Scott Wesson, age 85 of Semmes, Alabama, passed away from this life on July 16, 2026, in Bay Minette, Alabama. James was born to his father, James Cornelius Wesson and Frances Adams Wesson on June 16, 1941, in Florence, Alabama.

James graduated from Vigor High School in Mobile, Alabama. One of his greatest accomplishments was serving in the United States Army as First Lieutenant. While in the army, he was awarded the Army Commendation Medal and was an expert rifleman. James love for his country was at the core of who he was. He was proud to be an American. James worked at a petroleum chemical plant as a salesman for many years.

James married Mary Nolfe, the love of his life, in 1961. They started their family in Mobile, Alabama. He was a man of great faith; serving as a member of West Lake Baptist Church.

James is preceded in death by his parents, James and Frances Wesson, who welcomed him into his heavenly rest on July 16, 2026. Warm, loving memories will be shared by his wife of sixty-four years, Mary N. Wesson; one son, Scott Eugene Wesson (Tonya); Grandchildren: Lindsay Burroughs (Shannon), Taylor Wesson (Kristin), and Tanner Wesson (Breann); and six great-grandchildren; one sister, Carole Tibbits; a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

A visitation will take place 11am on Monday, July 20, 2026, at Radney Funeral Home, 3155 Dauphin Street, Mobile, Alabama 36606, followed by the funeral service at 12pm, with Paul Meredith officiating. Interment will take place at the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spanish Fort, Alabama at 2pm.
