

Janet was born on December 18, 1951 in Gulfport, Mississippi. She attended Murphy High School in Mobile, Alabama and graduated in 1969. She was employed with the Mobile Airport Authority for 27 years. Janet was an active member of Luke 4:18 Fellowship. She was a devoted Christian and loved the women of her Sunday school class. Janet’s hobbies included cooking, gardening, sewing and quilting. She was an active member of the Mobile Botanical Gardens’ Herb Society, the Azalea City Quilters Guild, and the Sassy Stitchers Club. Janet was an avid traveler and loved to go on vacation and visit different places.
Janet is preceded in death by her mother, Margaret Kathryn Crosby; her grandmother, Evelyn Kathryn Makler; her Pop, George John Makler, Sr.; her brother, James Albert Bennett; and her granddaughter, Olivia Anne McCurley. She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Randy McCurley, her sons, Jason Dolan of Mobile, Alabama; Jeff Dolan (Nicole) of Annapolis, Maryland; John Dolan (Sonya) of Spanish Fort, Alabama; and Jeff McCurley (Cathy) of Mobile, Alabama. She also leaves behind 7 grandchildren, Lauren Elizabeth Dolan and Kyle Michael Dolan of Estill Springs, Tennessee; Alex Blaine McCurley, Emily Grace McCurley, and William Matthew McCurley of Mobile, Alabama; and Erin Leigh Dolan and John Franklin Dolan of Spanish Fort, Alabama; as well as, numerous other family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 8, 2017, from 5pm-7pm at Pine Crest Funeral Home and Cemetery, 1939 Dauphin Island Parkway, Mobile, Alabama. The funeral will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 10:30am at Pine Crest Funeral Home and Cemetery. Memorials can be made to Luke 4:18 Fellowship.
