I miss you. I went to look you up the other day to tell you I finally did it. I finally transitioned to be a boy like I told you I would when we were little. I told you I would be a boy when I grow up. I don 't know if you remember, but you always saw me as "one of the guys" when we were little. Our friendship was one of the most affirming things about my childhood, and I still think about you a lot. I loved riding our bikes around Medora, playing cap guns with you, and I felt so sad when my mom would say, "No, Katie. Jaryd can't stay the night because Jaryd is a boy". I knew I was a boy on the inside, and so did you, too. I'll never forget one night I asked my mom one night if you could stay the night, and after she said no, I came back upstairs to you in the kitchen, who saw the look of defeat on my face and said, "GOD! EVERY TIME! It's not like we're gonna have sex!" We were too mature for our age and it was so funny, but so true. You were being honest, our relationship wasn't like that. I'm so sorry we didn't ever get to hang out or go out to dinner like we said we would after high school. I really miss the connection we had and I've been devastated having learned about your death only just last year, 6 months after you passed. You were my best friend and you're always in my heart. I never said I love you, it always felt gay to me. But I love you and I miss you so much. I'm sorry I wasn't there for you.  I'll miss you forever, Bear.

Bear was like a little brother to me. Such a kind young man who respected everyone and was genuine to his core. I will forever cherish the time I had with him. When I first met Bear, he had some imax prescription glasses. It's odd how that's the first image of him I think of.  I remember laughing with him when I'd mention that to him. I love you bro. I know you are at peace. You will never be forgotten because we have too many good memories of you. 

We are so sorry to hear about Jaryd’s passing. I can’t imagine your pain. Please know there are many who are praying for all his family and friends. We pray your special memories will give you peace. May God bless you and keep you. 

Elaine im so sorry for your loss. Greg and Jaryd hung out all time together.  My heart and love is with you.  We sure did think a lot of him.  Keeping you in our Prayers.

I remember Bear as a sweet young boy who was always so nice and polite. As he grew older he would do whatever his mom, auntie or Opa needed. I can recall spending time swimming and cooking out with the them all, truly some of the best times were with this wonderful family. I am deeply saddened by Jaryds passing but know that one day we shall meet again. It isn't goodbye but see ya later. Rest easy young man.


I will always remember Jaryd as the kind sweet loving boy who was like one of my own boys. He was always there when an extra helping hand was needed. He was also there when my dad was ill and needed extra help. He has always been the person to go to when our spirits were down. He always knew how to make us laugh. My grandchildren adored him and will terribly miss their "Uncle Bear". My children have lost a "brother", and I have lost a "son" .  My heart and prayers are with you... 

Jaryd was my bestfriend my brother and my role model got me through tough times was always there when i needed him and helped me pass high school was there through my medical problems . i will never forget the great times we had as a family . i love u and i will miss u so much. 

I did not know this young man, but I do know his mother and her sister, Elsie.  I send my heart felt condolences to the whole family. Rest now,  young man.  Your life mattered.  You were loved. You touched hearts and minds.
