Jean Taylor Armbrecht passed away on August 18, 2020 at the age of 89. She was born February 9, 1931 to Owen Ernest Taylor, Jr. and Dorothy Handley Taylor. After graduating from Murphy High School in 1948, she attended Wesleyan College and the University of Alabama. She married the love of her life, Billy Armbrecht, on September 1, 1951 and raised three children. She will be remembered for her devotion to her family, and her beautiful smile. Jean loved life, especially spending time with her family on their boats, or traveling. She had a keen eye and love for landscaping, as evidenced by her beautiful yard. She also loved music and dancing with Billy. She always had a smile on her face when she was on the dance floor. Jean also loved to cook and passed that love to each of her children. She would routinely order the most complicated meal at a restaurant and then try to duplicate it at home without a recipe. It was always better when she cooked it. In her later years, when her health was failing, she moved to Somerby of Mobile and later to Mobile Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. The family wishes to thank the staffs at both facilities for providing such great care for her. Jean was preceded in death by her husband, William Henry Armbrecht, III, as well as her parents, Owen Ernest Taylor, Jr., and Dorothy Handley Taylor, two grandchildren, Katherine Lee Zarzour and Philip Roberts Armbrecht, and her son in law, Robert Joseph Zarzour. She is survived by her three children, Katherine Armbrecht Zarzour, William Taylor Armbrecht, and Alexander Paterson Armbrecht (Terri). She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Robert Taylor Zarzour (Betsy), Joseph Grant Zarzour (Brie), Matthew Ross Zarzour (Elizabeth), Thomas Gaines Zarzour (Anna), Ryan Paterson Zarzour, Mary Katherine Zarzour Williams (Davis), Henry Paterson Armbrecht, Abigail Armbrecht Beane (Jacob), Grayson Elizabeth Armbrecht, and Allie Grace Armbrecht. She is also survived by eight great grandchildren, as well as her sister, Barbara Ann Taylor Guthans, and many nieces and nephews. The family will have a private memorial service and requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to M.D. Anderson Cancer Center at gifts.mdanderson.org, or to Prichard Preparatory School, 743 Mt. Sinai Ave., Whistler, AL 36612.
