Jefferson Louis Gold

Jeff was a native of New Orleans, and moved to Mobile, AL as a child where he grew up in the downtown area. He attended Murphy High School. In leaving high school, he joined the US Army, where he was stationed in Germany. After serving in the Army, he returned to Mobile where he began work at McGowin-Lyons, and shortly there after started his career at Continental Motors (now Teledyne), where he retired in 2009 after 43 years of dedicated service.

In 1997, he moved to Saraland, Alabama. Jeff was a member of Redemption Church in Saraland.

Jeff enjoyed numerous hobbies including fishing, golf and Civil War reenactments to name a few. One of his hobbies was to restore a 1963 Willys Army jeep he purchased. His goal was to ride his grandson in the Veteran’s Day Parade which he accomplished after two years of restoration. He also loved Alabama football, and the Saraland Spartans.

Jeff is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Linda Jernigan; his daughters, Kelly Gatewood (Andy) and Melissa Parnell (Josh); his beloved grandchildren, Jeffrey Gatewood (Makenzie), Gracie Gatewood (Max Sullivan), Ragan Parnell, nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Jefferson will be held Wednesday, November 22, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Pine Crest Funeral Home, 1939 DAUPHIN ISLAND PKWY, MOBILE, AL 36605, followed by a funeral service from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM.
