Jerry Eugene Gunnin

Graveside Services for Jerry Eugene Gunnin, 79, formerly of Birmingham Al., will be Friday December 29, 2017, 12:30 p.m. at Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Spanish Fort, Al.. Pastor Virgil Stone will officiate. Mr. Gunnin passed away Christmas Eve, Sunday, December 24, 2017 at Ashland Place Nursing Home. He was born on November 26, 1938 in Bessemer Al to Pirl P Gunnin and Essie Lee Cheek Gunnin. Mr. Gunnin served in the United States Air Force where he spent a year in Korea. He retired from ETMF, was an avid Alabama football fan and enjoyed fishing. He was a free spirit and lived his life to the fullest. He is survived by his children Renee G. Shipley (Mike) of Satsuma, Al, Jeffery Allen Gunnin of Pelham, Al, Tamara Gibson and Cody Gunnin of Birmingham, Al. Seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren and other nieces, nephews and family members. He was preceded in death by his parents Pirl P. Gunnin and Essie Lee Cheek Gunnin. Brothers J.C. Gunnin, Wilton (Bill) Gunnin, Milton Gunnin, and sister Ruby Gunnin Wallace. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial contribution be made to the charity of one’s choice.
