Jessica’s life was a beautiful testament to love, strength, and resilience. She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend whose presence brought warmth, laughter, and comfort to all who knew her.
On June 28, 2008, she married the love of her life, Shawn Amison, and together they built a life filled with devotion, laughter, and unwavering support. Jessica found true joy in spending time with her family and friends, cherishing every opportunity to make lasting memories with Shawn, their children, and their beloved dog, Oscar.
She is deeply mourned and lovingly remembered by her husband, Shawn Amison; daughter, Layla Amison; and son, Shawn Matthew Amison ("Matty"). She is also survived by her mother, Teresa Danzey (Tom Danzey); father, Eddie Goff, brother, Steven Goff, sister, Amy Goff and her lifelong best friend, Pamela Levins, whose bond with Jessica was more like that of a sister. Jessica’s love and spirit will live on in the hearts of her many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and countless friends.
Jessica is preceded in death by her beautiful daughter, Lyndsey Kate Amison; devoted and loving stepmother Sherri Goff, brother Shaun Goff and her beloved grandmothers, Shirley Holland Kain and Mary Etta Sanders. Their memory brought her strength, and her love for them remained constant throughout her life.
Jessica’s journey with lupus was marked by unwavering bravery. Despite countless hospital admissions and physical challenges, she faced each day with grace and determination. Her strength was nothing short of remarkable—especially in the final eight weeks of her fight. She reminded everyone around her of the power of hope and the depth of unconditional love.
The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the dedicated physicians and nurses at USA Providence Hospital ICU, whose expertise and compassion brought comfort during Jessica’s most difficult days. We are also deeply grateful to the loving and thoughtful staff at Saad’s Hospice Retreat for their tender care and support in her final moments.
