

Joe was born December 24, 1929 in Franklinton, Louisiana, and died April 28, 2012.
Joe is survived by his loving and faithful wife of 64 years, Amelia Rich Spencer; son, Tracy Spencer of Mobile, Alabama; daughters, Audrey Sementilli (Mark) of Big Canoe, Georgia and Carol Rose of Niceville, Florida; grandchildren, Christopher Spencer (April), Jennifer Spencer, Bradley Hart (Ansley), Noelle Hart Beaver (Matt), Michael Hart and Nick Guthrie; and great-grandchildren, Jewel Biggs, Miles Biggs, Angelyn Hart, Allyson Hart, Arianne Hart, and Amelia Charles Spencer.
Joe was predeceased by one son, George Lee Spencer; his mother, Rosa Lee Strickland Stafford; his father, Willie James Spencer and his brother, Willie J. Spencer, Jr.
Prior to moving to Niceville, Florida in 2010, Joe worked and lived in Mobile, Alabama for 52 years. He began his work in the timber business and eventually became a real estate broker, specializing in large land tracts and mineral rights. Joe was known for his business acumen, his love of a good trade, and his keen sense of humor. He loved God and was a longtime member of Crawford Baptist Church where he enjoyed his church family.
A time of visitation will be held Monday, April 30th from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home in Mobile. A service will be held Tuesday, May 1st at 1:00 p.m. at Crawford Baptist Church, Mobile, and conducted by Dr. Jay Robertson. Interment will follow at Lott Cemetery in Georgetown, Alabama.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Crawford Baptist Church in memory of Joe.
The family wishes to thank Emerald Coast Hospice for their service and care during the final weeks of Joe's life. The family also wishes to thank Joe's faithful caregiver the last few months of his life, Sheila Hand.
