Jimmie Lee Peavy Sr.

Mr. Jimmie Lee Peavy Sr. was a native of Alabama, and a resident of Mobile, Alabama for over 40 years. He was born to the union of Claude Peavy and Maggie White Knight on April 26, 1935. He departed this life to receive his Heavenly Crown with our Lord Jesus Christ on August 17, 2017 at home with his family beside him.

Mr. Peavy was a retired deck hand with Warrior and Gulf Navigation. He also retired from Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, Inc. He was a member of Aimwell Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Michael E. Jackson, Pastor, and faithfully attended until his health made him unable to attend.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 47 years Dorothy Louise Peavy; parents, Claude Peavy and Maggie White Knight; and his step-father, Dan Knight.

He leaves to cherish his memories his loving and devoted children: four sons, Jimmie (Tyeshia) Peavy Jr., Clayton (Annisha) Peavy, Andre Rodgers, all of Mobile, Alabama, and Larry (Pat) Fluker of Pennington, Alabama; three daughters, Jacqueline Patricia Peavy of Atlanta, Georgia, Laverne Peavy and Katrina (Darrell) Gray both of Mobile, Alabama; brother, Percy Lee (Annie) Peavy of Jarratt, Virginia; two devoted nephews, Pervis Eugene (Shirley) Peavy of Salitpa, Alabama, and Reverend Andrew Gardner and his wife Dr. Debra Gardner of Mobile, Alabama; and cousins, Susie Coleman, Jennie McCants, Saundra Smith, Deborah Rodgers, Ronn Greene, all of Mobile, Alabama, Robert (Martha) Greene of Decatur, Georgia, Patricia (Michael) Parker of Stone Mountain, Georgia, Sam (Ethel) Peavy of Biloxi, MS, Nathaniel (Lucretia) Peavy of Gulfport, MS, Cephas (Dorothy) Peavy of New Orleans, LA, Leslie Peavy Hunter of Detroit, MI, and Fletcher (Marie) Law of Pelham, AL.

He also has a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 4:30-8:30 p.m. on Friday, August 25, 2017 at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Dauphin Island Parkway, with a Graveside Service on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in Pine Crest Cemetery.
