

Mrs. JoAnn Reynolds Meadows, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2026, surrounded by Family Mobile, Alabama. She was 86 years old.
JoAnn was born on May 29, 1940, in Mobile, Alabama, to her parents Lovenia and Adley Reynolds. She grew up in a loving home alongside her siblings Vivian Vickrey and Charles David Reynolds. A lifelong resident of Mobile, JoAnn’s roots ran deep in the community she cherished.
JoAnn married the love of her life, Zackie Meadows, with whom she shared a remarkable journey of love and partnership. Together they raised four sons—Mark (Deborah), Michael (Lisa), Chris (Tammy), and Zack (Kim)—to whom she devoted her life with unwavering care and dedication. As a homemaker and mother, JoAnn poured her heart into creating a nurturing home filled with love and laughter. She skillfully managed the bustling activities of raising four boys, from shuffling them to sporting events and band performances to camping trips and even the occasional hospital visit. Her family was her pride and joy.
A talented cook with a passion for bringing people together through food, JoAnn’s kitchen was often filled with the aroma of delicious meals prepared with love. Her culinary skills were admired by all who had the pleasure of sitting at her table. Especially Known for her Gumbo.
JoAnn was also an active member of the Community of Christ Church throughout her life. Her faith was a cornerstone of her existence, guiding her actions and providing strength to those around her.
In addition to being a devoted wife and mother, JoAnn embraced the role of grandmother with open arms. She was blessed with 15 grandchildren (including step-grandchildren), 28 great-grandchildren—with one more expected in September—and two great-great-grandchildren—with another due in July. Her legacy lives on through each generation she nurtured with love.
JoAnn’s life was enriched by travel as well. Accompanying Zackie during his career at International Paper Company allowed them to explore much of the world together—a testament to their adventurous spirit and enduring bond.
She is preceded in death by her parents Lovenia and Adley Reynolds; her sister Vivian Vickrey; her brother Charles Reynolds; her mother-in-law Christabel Meadows; father-in-law Tyra Meadows; and other cherished family members who have gone before her.
JoAnn will be remembered for her loving nature, joyful spirit, and unwavering devotion to her family. Her memory will forever be treasured by those who knew and loved her.
