Joan Marie Graf Dodici, a lifetime resident of Mobile, Al., was born on March 26, 1936 to Mr. & Mrs. George Karl Graf. She passed away on Thursday August 2, 2018, surrounded by family whom she loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Joseph Patrick Dodici. She had 3 daughters, Lisa Marie, Claudia Ann (Billy), and Robin Lynn (Phillip); 7 grandchildren, Jessica, Lee, Lindsay (John), Amanda, Georgia, Luci, and Madelyn. She was able to meet her first great-grandchild, Violet June, just before her passing. She is survived by her sisters, Mary Ann Emerson and Claudia Emil Graf, as well as, her Graf cousins and other relatives and friends.
Every day of Joan's life revolved around Graf 's Dairy, started by her grandfather, Emil Thomas Graf Sr., in the 1920's and spent many years living in the Dairy House after the passing of her Auntie.
Her greatest personal passion was her love of quilting. She was an active member of Azalea City Quilters Guild and Eastern Shore Quilters Guild, serving in numerous capacities and socializing with her devoted quilting friends.
Joan will live on through the many stories she joyfully shared and through the hand-made quilts she passed on to her family and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Pius X Catholic Church on Monday, August 6, 2018 at 11 a.m.
The family will receive visitors from 10-11 a.m. in the Sarto Center. Interment will be in Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Prodisee Pantry, Dumas Wesley Community Center, Penelope House, or Wounded Warrior Project.
