Joan M. Smilie, born on March 9, 1936 in Mobile, AL died on Friday, December 2, 2011. Survivors include her husband of 55 years Mr. Robert L. Smilie; daughters, Debbie (Paul)Latham, Becky (Ken) Ward, Terry (Steve) Milner, Judy (Mike) Richburg; sons, Bob (Mickey) Smilie, Scott (Karen) Smilie; sisters, Pat (Ted) Hewitt, Marcell Gerhart, Mary Ann Black and eleven grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 5, 2011 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Monday 12 Noon until service time at the funeral home. Interment will be in Pine Crest West Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bob Smilie Jr., Scott Smilie, Gene Latham, Steven Smilie, Tyler Richburg, Morgan Richburg. Honorary pallbearers will be Jacob & Joshua Smilie. In lieu of flowers family request memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to the American Diabetes Association.
