

John Milton Bru Jr., age 93, a lifetime resident of Mobile Alabama, passed away Sunday, July 15, 2012. He was born in Mobile, Al, December 28, 1918. He graduated from McGill Institute in 1937. He worked at the Alabama State Docks for 44 years for Ryan Walsh Stevedoring. He honorably served his country during World War II in the China-Burma theater under General "Vinegar Joe" Stilwell for which he was decorated with the Bronze Star. He was a longtime member of Our Lady Of Lourdes Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, and a Mobile Mystic Society. He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley Bergeron Bru; his brother Giovanni Bru; and his sister Rita Baldridge. He is survived by his brother Leo (Mary) Bru; his son Wayne (Karen) Bru; his daughters Myrna (Robert) McKean; Janet (Tommy) Pollman; and Cheryl (Steve) Howell; Beloved grandchildren Kristine (Scott) McCall; Courtney (J.W Custer) Bru; Robert S (Brandy) McKean Jr.; Lauren (Thomas) Cornelius; Thomas G Pollman Jr.; Megan (Garett) Majoue PHD; John Clinton Howell; Cameron Howell; and 7 great grandchildren; Miles, Olivia, Anna Claire, Joseph, Emmy, Ryan, and Avery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-8 PM (Rosary at 7:00) at Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street, and the funeral Mass will be from Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church on Thursday at 10:00 AM, with the internment immediately following at Pine Crest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
