

John Randolph ( Randy ) Delchamps --- age 71, died Thursday, May 14, 2015 at his home. Mr. Delchamps was the son of Virginia Smith Delchamps and Oliver Harris Delchamps, Sr. He was married to Nancy Herrington Delchamps for 32 years.
Mr. Delchamps was the former Chairman of the Board, CEO and President of Delchamps, Inc., a regional chain of 121 supermarkets in four Gulf Coast states. He was currently President of Randy Delchamps Real Estate and Development Company.
Mr. Delchamps was active throughout his life with numerous community and civic activities such as the Senior Bowl, The Red Elephant Club, Salvation Army, American Cancer Society, The Lions Club, The Mobile Chamber of Commerce, past President of The Mobile Association of Realtors and a member of Mystic Societies. He was a graduate of The University of Alabama where he was a member of Delta Kappa Epsilon and throughout his entire life, he was an avid supporter of the Alabama Crimson Tide. Mr. Delchamps was a member of Ashland Place United Methodist Church.
He is survived by a brother, Oliver Harris Delchamps, Jr, (Tillie, deceased) Fairhope, AL and a sister, Mary Delchamps Reyner, Mobile, AL. Mr. Delchamps is also survived by daughters, Libby Delchamps, Jackson, MS., Lisa Perkins (Ray), Hattiesburg, MS., and Michelle Ramadan (Fuad), Satellite Beach, FL and sons John Delchamps, Jr., Lucedale, MS., Lee Delchamps (Amanda), Tuscaloosa, AL., and David Neutze (Joannie), Bay Minette, AL.
He also is survived by 13 grandchildren: Alex Neutze, Collier Delchamps, John David, Joshua, Jacob and James Neutze, Samantha Stewart, Rachael and Shelby Perkins, Oliver and Cecilia Delchamps, Soha and Sami Ramadan, and a great grandchild, John Michael Stewart, nieces, nephews, other family members and a host of wonderful friends.The family will receive friends at Ashland Place United Methodist Church between 9:00 and 11:00 AM, Tuesday, May 19, 2015 with funeral service at 11:00 AM in the sanctuary of the church.
