

John Francis Dumas, Jr., 62, passed away on Monday, February 7, 2022 in Washington County Hospital in Chatom, Alabama from Covid-19. John was born to John Francis Dumas, Sr. and Leaster Koen Dumas on April 3, 1959 in Mobile, Alabama. He was a graduate of B.C. Rain High School, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology. John served with the U.S. Navy from 1978 – 1981. He met and married Pauline Grace Dumas on December 2, 1989. John was in the circulation department with the Daytona Beach News for several years, and he lived in multiple places – Alabama, California, Texas, Florida, Oklahoma, and Washington.
John was preceded in death by his father, John Francis Dumas, Sr.; and grandparents, Charlie and Beatrice Dumas, and Joseph Cleve Koen and Leeora Koen Freelong.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Pauline Grace Dumas; sons, Samuel D. Kuszynski and his wife Shannon, Steven G. Kuszynski, John Francis Dumas, III, and Brian Richard Dumas; grandchildren, Zander Dumas, Adric Dumas, Carleigh Kuszynski, Isabella Kuszynski, and Dylan Henrikson; mother, Leaster Koen Dumas; sister, Lisa D. Carpenter and her husband Larry; niece, Tabitha Carpenter; nephews, Kyle Carpenter and Lee Oakley; and other cherished family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 11, 2022 at Pine Crest Funeral Home located at 1939 Dauphin Island Parkway in Mobile, Alabama 36605. A graveside service will be in Magnolia Cemetery at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 11, 2022, located at 1202 Virginia Street, Mobile, Alabama 36660.
