
HEISLER John B. "Jack" Heisler, 82, passed away July 8 after a brief illness. Jack was born in Decatur, IL in 1929 to Joseph and Helen Heisler. He married Marilyn Weber in 1952 in Colfax, IL. Jack obtained his Accounting degree from Southeastern University in Washington, DC. He was a 1st Lieutenant in the Army and served in the Korean War. His dedication as a Special Agent with the FBI for 30 years was admirable and treasured. Upon retirement from the FBI, he went on to work for the U.S. Attorney's office. Always wanting to sell real estate, he decided to obtain a license and he enjoyed many years at Prudential Cooper Real Estate. He was a member of the Crichton Optimist Club for many years. Jack will always be remembered for his intellectual mind, infectious smile, positive attitude, love of classical music, art museums, and flying in small aircrafts. His admirable dedication to his profession carried over to his family life. He rarely missed a local grandchild's activity, and always looked forward to Sundays, for mass and family dinners. As a member at St. Dominic Parish for 46 years, he attended almost every Sunday 7:00 am mass as a greeter and an usher and served on the Parish council. He loved being surrounded by his children and grandchildren. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his brother, Brother Joseph Heisler, C.S.C. He is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn of 60 years; children, Steve Heisler, Eric Heisler both of Mobile, Alabama; and Kristin Van Drisse of Green Bay, WI. He is further survived by his grandchildren, Lance (Lauren) Heisler, Adam Heisler, Lyndsey Heisler, Nick Heisler, Zack Heisler, and Connor Van Drisse. He will also be sadly missed by his siblings, Dorothy Larsen of Sioux Falls, SD, Rosemarie (Carl) Burg of Springfield, IL and Bob (Terry) Heisler of Hot Springs, AR; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 17 at St. Dominic Church, 4156 Burma Road, Mobile, AL from 9:30-11:00am, followed by a Memorial Mass at 11:00 with Father Cink officiating.
