

John Randolph “Randy” Reese – a 64 year-old lifelong resident of Mobile, AL died May 20, 2011, at home surrounded by his loving family and special friends. He graduated from Murphy High School in 1964, was a Vietnam veteran of the U.S. Army, and worked at Alcoa for 13 years. John loved his family, fishing in the Gulf, and all sports, especially Bama football. Mr. Reese was preceded in death by his infant son, John Edward Reese; parents, Jules E. Reese, Sr. and Mary P. Reese; and brother, Jules E. Reese, Jr. He is survived by his loving sweetheart, caregiver, and wife of 44 years, Catherine L. Reese; son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey R. and Jerri R. Reese; granddaughter, Cailyn Anna Reese; brothers-in-law, George E. Lear, Jr. and John Charles Lear; nephews, Andy and Jules Reese; one niece; many other relatives; special friend, Tom Redmond; and many special friends who were always prepared to help. The family would like to thank all of the doctors and staff that cared for John so tirelessly during his five years with them including Dr. Nipper, Dr. Sirmon, and the staff of FMC Magnolia Dialysis; Dr. Rawls with Internal Medicine; Odyssey Hospice, including his caring R.N.s, Candice, Cliff, Theresa, and Kathleen; Dr. Evans and staff at Veterans Health Care Mobile Clinic, Dr. Cook and the ENT surgeons at the Biloxi VA Clinic, and his special physical therapist, Tim, with Midsouth. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 24, 2011, at 2 p.m. with Mr. Marshall Underwood officiating.
