Visitation will be held at Pine Crest Funeral Home, 1939 DAUPHIN ISLAND PKWY, MOBILE, AL 36605, US, on October 30, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, followed by a Funeral Service at the same location from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
A Graveside Service will take place at Pine Crest Cemetery, 1939 DAUPHIN ISLAND PKWY, MOBILE, AL 36605, US, on October 30, 2026, from 2:00 pm.
John Stephen Whittington was born in Mobile, Alabama to parents James Oliver Whittington and James (Jerry) Norine Whittington on January 10, 1940. He went to school in Mobile where he met and married Margaret Yvonne Whittington on March 21, 1959. John was a military veteran who served on active duty with the Alabama Army National Guard for a little over 37 years before retiring as an Administration Officer of the 226th ASG with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
John Stephen Whittington is preceded in death by his oldest son, James Stephen Whittington. John is survived by his wife of sixty-seven years, Margaret Yvonne Whittington; his daughter, Connie Whittington Moore (Thomas); his youngest son, John Van Whittington (Dianne); grandchildren: Joshua Whittington, Mason Langenbach (Allie), Blake Langenbach, Emily Ivy, Savana Wall, Ella Thompson, Hannah Thompson, Michelle Creel, Jonathan Schradelbach, Justin Schradelbach, and four great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing.
