On Friday, May 14, 2021 at 11:50 pm, John Wayne Wingard, loving husband of 55 years, father of 3 children, Paw-Paw of 5 grandchildren, Papa John of 2 great-grandchildren, has made heaven his new home singing, dancing and worshipping for eternity. He is preceded in death by his father, John Samuel Wingard, brothers-in-law, Leonard Monfee and Eric Foster.
John Wayne Wingard was born on October 31, 1944 in Mobile, Alabama. On May 6, 1966 married the love of life, Judith Annette Foster and celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary this past May 6th.
John Wayne Wingard lived his life according to the example left by Jesus. He was a true follower of Christ and his life reflected that. His word was his bond, he was a hard worker and soul winner. He honored his family by being a provider for their needs, sometimes wants, and always going above and beyond. His love for God was shown in all areas of his life, especially his love for his family. He kept his word. If he told you he would do something, he would go the extra mile to put a smile on someone's face.
He constantly taught the lesson of putting God first. By putting God first, countless and unlimited blessings would flow. Even when his health started to decline, he made sure his tithes were paid, because he believed in expanding the Kingdom of God.
One thing about him, he loved to laugh! No one made him laugh more than himself! He loved telling stories nearly as much as he loved hearing them. Another valuable lesson he taught is dessert is always first and last !
A part of being a hard worker is always pushing forward. Daddy learned this lesson when he was on top of a telephone pole and his pants fell !!
Daddy's legacy is his family and the souls he won for Christ. No one knows the reach he had because he loved and was kind to everyone, even people he didn't know. Daddy will be truly missed, but Mom and all of our family are looking forward to joining him in glory real soon.
