Mr. Joseph Clay Daniel “Pop”. Born on May 23, 1914 in Georgiana, Alabama, passed peacefully on Saturday January 1, 2011. He was a 1934 graduate of Murphy High School and retired from Alcoa Aluminum Plant. He was a faithful member of St. Marks Methodist Church for over 48 years. He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years Mary Nell Blaylock Daniel; parents, John C. & Ada Daniel; sisters, Ida Bessie Barksdale, Annie Watt, Virgie Kincaid and Johnye Chadwick. He is survived by his four sons, Joseph F. (Carole) Daniel, Roy E. Daniel, Hubert A. Daniel and Stephen A. (Ann) Daniel; two daughters, Shirley D. Daniel and Cynthia E. Shoemaker; seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, numerous extended family and devoted friends. Graveside services and interment will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at 2:00 PM in Pine Crest Cemetery. Funeral arrangements by Radney Funeral home 3155 Dauphin Street.
