

Joseph Paul Miller, 82, long-time resident of Mobile, passed away Sunday, June 18, 2017. He was born in Marvin, Georgia to Joseph Harold and Abbie Lee Miller. Paul was a hard worker, beginning to work for the Railroad when he was 16, and worked as a Switchman until he retired over forty years later. He was a great, humble Christian, loving and serving the Lord all of his life. Paul was extremely dedicated to his family, seeing them through good times and bad. He was generous and tender-hearted, very loved, and will be missed greatly.
Paul joined the love of his life on Sunday, Dorothy Holly Miller. He was also preceded in death by his parents, and son, Richard P. Miller.
Paul is survived by his daughter, Sheila Ann (Rob) Gardner; son, Gary (Valerie) Miller; daughter, Sharon (Steve) Pettry; granddaughters, Angela (Darrin) Gantt, Summer (Jason) Stocker, Tiffany (Sam) Stewart, Abbie (Shawn) Keel, and Chrissy (J.P.) Grisham; grandsons, Bobby (Kylie) Miller, Joey (Sarah) Miller, Matthew (Sara) Miller, and Mitchell Miller; great-grandchildren, Dylan, Dawson, Gabriella, Jackson, Mackenzie, Shelby, Carter, Caroline, Ryder, Tristan, and Cooper; and two, little, great-grand blessings on the way: Paisley Grace and Cora.
Visitation for Paul will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Dauphin Island Parkway in Mobile, with a chapel service starting at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.
