

Joshua Wilton Johnson, 46, of Mobile, AL passed away December 15, 2021 at Providence Hospital. Joshua was born December 16, 1974 in Mobile, AL. He is survived by his daughter, Hanna Nicole Johnson of Mobile, AL and parents Robert Louis and Deborah Wilton Johnson of Mobile, AL. His siblings, Jeremy (Amber) Johnson of LaGrange, GA, Ann Marie (Simon) Halton of Pleasant Hill, CA, and Sarah (Tommy) Noblin of Trussville, AL. His nephews, PVT 2 Bryan Johnson, United States Army, Ethan Johnson, Hayden Johnson, Grayson Johnson, Hudson Johnson, Bennett Noblin, Paxton Johnson, and Myles Johnson. Nieces McKenzie Noblin, Emerson Noblin, Emma Halton, Blythe Halton, and Maycee Johnson.
He is preceded in death by his sister Stephanie Dawn Johnson and nephew, Declan Robert Johnson. His grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Van Emerson Wilton and Mr. and Mrs. Claude August Johnson, Sr.
Joshua attended St. Ignatius Catholic School. He is a 1993 graduate of McGill-Toolen High School. He graduated with a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in Journalism from Auburn University in 1999.
Joshua was a longtime employee of the Daily Home in Talladega, AL and the Mississippi Press in Biloxi, MS. He wrote contributions for the Mobile Press Register and the Catholic Week throughout his career.
Joshua was an avid Auburn University Athletics supporter, a big Dallas Cowboys fan and a diehard Atlanta Braves fan. He had a great sense of humor and always enjoyed a laugh with family and friends. He loved his family with all of his heart. He will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
Visitation services will be held at 9am on December 22, 2021 in the Murphy Center at St Dominic Catholic Church followed a Funeral Mass at 10am. Internment will Be at Pinecrest Cemetary. Celebration of Life will be held at the Murphy Center after the interment.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Heart Association, The Asperger/ Autism Network, and the Wounded Warrior Project.
