She married John Robert Hill who preceded her in death in 2021. They had one child, Robin Ann Hill who preceded them in death in 1977.
Joy was an active member of Spring Hill Baptist Church where she attended the Gail Ferrill Sunday School Class. Since she was a young child, she believed Jesus was her Savior, that when the time would come that she would close her eyes in death she would immediately open them in GLORY.

Because I believed and have always known,
I’ll be at peace when I leave this land,
That God the Father will be reaching down,
For me to take hold of His glorious right hand.
