She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, David Rodgers; her son, Charles Raymond Atchison Jr.; and her siblings: Charles Ed Black, Beverly Black, Daryl Black, Jimmy Black, Gabriel Hattenstein, Virginia Dent, and Emily Helveston.
She leaves behind her loving daughter, Krystie (Gerry) Fulton; her cherished grandchildren, Serenity (Murdock) Miller, Haven Dunn, Taylor Dunn, and Telisha (Rob) Martin; and her treasured great-grandchildren: Justin, Ethan, Branson, Barrett, Ansley, and Finley.
Affectionately known as "Tinnie," she graduated from Vigor High School in 1959. She then earned her LPN from Alabama Community College and began her career at Jackson Hospital, working in the emergency room, assisting with surgeries, and later serving as a traveling nurse. In 1982, she moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, to work at the City of Faith Hospital. She returned home in 1987 and received her RN from Bishop State Community College. She went on to become a mental health and addiction specialist, working at Searcy Hospital and Charter Hospital.
Tinnie took her calling beyond borders through missionary trips to Argentina, Europe, and Africa, offering healing and hope to countless lives. Her compassion extended far beyond the hospital walls. She had a quick wit, a magnetic personality, and a gift for storytelling that made everyone feel at home in her presence. She lived life fully—whether it was enjoying time at her beach house or attending games played by her children, grandchildren, or great-grandchildren. She was their biggest fan and proudest supporter.
As a Godly woman, she was the matriarch and cornerstone of her family—a source of strength, joy, and unwavering love. Her legacy of compassion, faith, and grace will live on through the lives she touched and the stories she told. She will always be remembered with love and gratitude. Her absence will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved her. She leaves a space in our hearts that can never be filled, but the love she gave will stay with us, even as we long for her presence.
